Tigers Sweep Pirates in SCAC Opener
The Colorado College women’s volleyball team earned their first conference win of the season over rival Southwestern University on Friday night in Georgetown, Texas, beating the Pirates in three straight matches: 25-23, 25-18, 26-24.
“This was a great team win,” Head Coach Sharon Dingman said. “At critical moments, different players elevated their game to make a decisive play and Meghan (Gannon) was a spectacular Tiger tonight.”
The Tigers finished the weekend 2-2, ending with a win against Schreiner University on Sunday afternoon.
Tigers Beat Previously Undefeated CNU

Oliver Ramirez scored twice in a span of 33 seconds, including the game-winning goal, to lead the CC men’s soccer team to a nail-biting 3-2 victory over Christopher Newport Saturday at Stewart Field. The Tigers finished the weekend with a 2-0 victory over UC Santa Cruz at home.

OCTOBER 13-14 | Rugby Alumni vs. Students Match
Esteemed Colorado College Alumni Rugby Legends! We hope to see many, many alumni players this weekend, especially those without hip or knee replacements. Surgically improved or not, we’d love to catch up with you. The Homecoming Weekend is so much better with you around and with a good fix of CC rugby. This weekend match will make the Alumni vs Students match a THIRTY YEAR tradition at Colorado College.

Details
Please make plans for our annual match. We want and mostly need YOU for this fun alumni rugby match. Skill is secondary to participation. If you need a quick refresher on say, rugby laws, some local rugby proceeds our effort.
Friday, October 13: A perfect date for superstitious rugby fans. CC plays under the lights on Washburn Field, against Air Force Academy. Be a part of the fifty-sixth year of CC Rugby and cheer on The Cutthroats (women) when they kick off at 6 pm. Men take on AFA at 8 pm. Alumni huddle in the stands to see who is likely to show up Saturday at noon.
Saturday, October 14: We kick off at noon. We play four halves, mostly at half speed. Meet at the Donald Autrey Field by 11:30 am to warm up. This pitch is behind Shove Chapel, bordered by Cache La Poudre Street and Nevada Avenue. Locals call it Yampa.
A great alumni tradition will continue, whereby everyone pitches in after the match to make a nice donation to the club. This usually works out to about $100 for every try the alumni score. The more trys, the more fun for you and the bigger the donation. This kitty helps the club buy equipment and pay off referees to enhance the win loss record. We will also award the MVP trophies (to students) and bring up alumni & parent support for the CC Rugby Endowment, used for various other club needs.
OCTOBER 14 | Celebrate 60 Years of CC Lacrosse!
Join us on Washburn Field for our alumni game as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of Tigers Men’s Lacrosse. We’re looking forward to a fun and exciting matchup between the current team and Tiger alumni. Stick around after the game for a fun tailgate where you can share food, drink, and stories with current students and fellow alumni.
We can’t wait to see everyone on campus for a great day of lacrosse!
