February 9, 1874 marks the founding of Colorado College. 151 years later, alumni and families gathered in 20 cities across the US and Canada to celebrate this milestone.
Tigers met in places as diverse as Park City, Utah, Cherryfield, Maine, Fort Collins, Colorado, and Kansas City, Missouri. Hosts planned meetups at their homes, local breweries, and restaurants.
Attendance ranged from two proud Tigers who braved the bitter cold in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, to 75 who came to celebrate in Seattle with Interim President Manya Whitaker and admitted students who were still deciding whether or not to attend CC. We hope to have a large group of new Seattle students next fall – who could resist the charisma of our accomplished alumni and enthusiastic families?

In typical CC fashion, events were creative and varied including activities focused on the arts, food, culture, and sustainability. Denver alumni celebrated with tacos at an alumni-owned restaurant and with an alum-led cardio dance class. At the LA Music Center, guests stepped into a music-filled reading room for an immersive performance installation co-created by Associate Professor of Physics Natalie Gosnell ’08. Chicago alumni met at the Creative Chicago Reuse Exchange to make pouches from vinyl advertising banners.

Two CC Day events leaned into our core value of social responsibility. Alumni and families in New York City prepped medically tailored meals for people with severe illness at a non-profit. Those in West Linn, Oregon, volunteered with other community members and assisted with habitat restoration at a local park.
In all, more than 300 Tigers were involved with CC Day. Reminiscing, discussion, and making connections were central themes at every gathering. One attendee commented that, though separated by 35 years, attendees still talked about the same professors. CC Day was a moment to revel in our shared experiences.

2025 was the inaugural CC Day experience and we plan to continue them for the next 150 years. If you are interested in hosting in 2026, email alumni@coloradocollege.edu.
