Celebrating New Spaces on Campus

The Colorado College campus is always changing! Check out these new and reimagined spaces, which are fueling student success, well-being, and Tiger pride — thanks in part to the generosity of our remarkable community.

Tiger Statue, Ed Robson Arena

It’s time to roar! This sculpture, printed out of wax and cast in bronze, was donated by longtime CC hockey fans Tom and Annie Kiemel ’93 and their family. It was established outside the main entrance of Ed Robson Arena on the northwest side in September 2022 — taking Tiger pride to a whole new level.

Mike and Barbara Yalich Student Services Center

CC’s new hub for health, wellness, and student life is located adjacent to Ed Robson Arena. The space was made possible in part by Inasmuch Foundation to honor the legacy and contributions of Barbara Neeley Yalich ’53 and her late husband Milo “Mike” Yalich ’50. Here, you can find the Wellness Resource Center, which focuses on sexual violence prevention and response; mental health promotion and suicide prevention; and substance education and abuse prevention. The Yalich Student Services Center also houses health services and counseling, the college bookstore, and the mail center.

Robert G. Moore Entrance, Ed Robson Arena

A west entrance to Ed Robson Arena, on Tejon St., has been named for Robert G. Moore P’13, who retired from CC in 2023 after leading human resources, facilities, the college’s finances, administrative services, and dining operations since 2009. He was acting co-president with Mike Edmonds from July 2020-July 2021, and most recently served as Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer.

Rochelle T. Dickey Multicultural Lounge, Worner Center

During Homecoming and Family Weekend 2022, CC hosted a ribbon cutting for its first-ever multicultural student lounge, located on the second floor of Worner Campus Center. The lounge is named for Rochelle T. Dickey ’83, P’19, who retired as Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Life in May 2023 after serving the college for more than 30 years. The space was made possible through a collaboration between the Colorado College Student Government Association and the Butler Center.

Arts & Crafts Space, Worner Center

Located on the lower level of Worner Campus Center, the Arts and Crafts program encourages students, faculty, and staff to explore, experiment, and engage with art and craft processes and histories in a co-curricular setting. The newly reimagined space offers classes, workshops, and open studio times to explore a wide range of techniques and media, from painting to ceramics to fiber arts to jewelry.

Mike Edmonds Court at Reid Arena

In February 2023, the CC community dedicated the Mike Edmonds Court at Reid Arena in honor of Senior Vice President Mike Edmonds, who retired in May. The basketball and volleyball court was named for Edmonds in connection with a generous gift from Inasmuch Foundation, which supports initiatives related to student success and well-being. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate Edmonds’ 30-plus years at the college, his steadfast care and concern for students, and the inedible impact he has made on the CC community.
